Brett Farve "The BUMB"

So I guess you are all wondering what this blog is about, well it is a way for me to tell all of the sporting world who I think are "Bumbs". Yes I know that Bumb is spelled Bum, but this is an artistic decision. Each week I will write and tell whom ever reads this who I believe is a Bumb.

Alright lets get down to business. Brett Farve, probably one the best quarterback of the 1990's, but this isn't the 1990's this is 2006. Now-a-days the sporting world is a "what have you done for me lately?" kinda place. If you put up big numbers then you will play and if you don't you ride the pine. Well that's right where Brett should be, on the pine. The numbers has put up that 3 years are terrible, not including this year he's thrown 72 touchdowns, which isn't bad, but he has also thrown 67 interceptions. Now this is where people might think I'm crazy, they would say those numbers aren't that bad, well that just over a one touchdown to one interception ratio. His passer rating over those three years is 84.5. Now he has been just terrible those numbers are not that good. Let me back the up, Matt Hasselbeck over that same 3 year span he has thrown the same number of touchdowns, 72, but he has only thrown 39 interceptions, which is 28 less, also his passer rating is 90.3 that is 5.8 points better. Those numbers are good.

You are probably asking your self, Why compare A Brett Farve to a Matt Hasselbeck? Well if I compared him to a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady that's just not even fair. The numbers wouldn't compare, but I want you to know that I'm not basing this just on numbers. In this past off-season MR. Farve was considering retirement. In my opinion he took way to long to make his choice. He left the organization hangin and his teammates didn't know what his choice was going to be. He finally made his choice to come back to the team, which i don't think was the right one. He should have hung up those cleats and called it a career, but no he came back and really hasn't help his team. First he says that this is one of the best Packer teams he has ever played on, which is a load of diddle poo, this is one the worst. Back to the numbers, which you might want to shield you children's eyes, they might get sick from seeing this. So far this year he has had 2 good games, against two of the worst teams in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals and the Detroit Lions. Against these two teams he has thrown 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions and completed almost 70 percent of his passes. Then in his other games has thrown 9 touchdowns and 7 interceptions and under 60 percent of his passes. Those Numbers are scary I know.

Well if you agree with me or not I don't really care, and it wont change my thoughts on Brett Farve, My first "BUMB" of the week.
